What is the correct conversion rate of GB to MB?

Most of us get confused with GB to MB conversion. This is to clarify Tikona uses the correct definition of GB i.e. 1 GB is 1000 MB. Below are the reasons for it.

Tikona uses International System of Units (SI).

In terms of above standards, 1 GB (Pronounced Gigabyte ) is 1000 MB . The prefix giga means 10^9 in the International System of Units (SI), therefore one gigabyte is 1000000000 bytes. The unit symbol for the gigabyte is GB. See Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabyte

Sometimes , you may get confused with GiB definitions. Where 1 GiB (Pronounced GibiByte ) is 1024 MiB(Mebibyte).

These units were published In December 1998 by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the leading international organization for worldwide standardization in electrotechnology, approved as an IEC International Standard names and symbols for prefixes for binary multiples for use in the fields of data processing and data transmission.

These units are written and pronounced differently and hardly used in commercial internet context.
